Professional Development
I partnered with a non-profit organization to build professional development content for synchronous, online courses related to social-emotional development and the Purple Star Schools Designation program. I utilized numerous platform features to facilitate learner interactions and incorperate multiple knowledge checkpoints.
Learner Interactions
Professional development is most successful when it includes opportunities for peer interaction. My courses utilize a variety of embedded platform and external web tools to provide opportunities for participants to learn from one another and build personal connections to the content and their peers.
Knowledge Checkpoints
Formative assessment is critical to the overall impact of professional development because it allows the instructor to adjust to the needs of the learners. My courses included multiple opportunities for participants to assess themselves and to be assessed in a way that informed the implementation of the course.
